MEDem workshop - sign up and see how we explore democracy
How do national electoral processes work? Is it possible to
efficiently conduct analyses and develop forecasts for the
further development of democracy? Sign up for MEDem workshops and
learn more during the 7th Congress of the Polish Society of
Social Communication, which is being organized in September. This
largest communications event in the country is co-organized by
the Institute of Journalism and Media Communication at the
University of Silesia in Katowice.
What is MEDem?
MEDem is a newly emerging research infrastructure that connects
various sources of data, concerning the functioning of democratic
systems. It will allow researchers to conduct comprehensive
analyses to show how electoral processes work in different
countries. MEDem will not only facilitate access to scattered
data but will also enable the development of uniform research
standards. In the future, this will mean access to reliable tools
for analyzing changes in democracy and forecasting its further
development.
Why is this important?
In times of dynamic political change and emerging challenges to
democracy, the need for reliable, comparable data is greater than
ever. MEDem will not only make it possible to aggregate them but
also contribute to the development of standards and tools to
analyze them effectively.
Who might be interested in participating in the Workshop?
Anyone who conducts research on democracy, elections or social
decision-making mechanisms. It's also a great opportunity to
engage with academics and research institutions that work on
similar issues.
Where and when?
All Participants of the 7th PTKS Congress are invited to the
session on MED today! This is a great opportunity to discuss the
future of democracy research and see what opportunities this
initiative offers. Registration for the congress is possible at:
